June 27, 2025. Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton. The Supreme Court answered: yes, 6-3. Texas's law is constitutional. Age verification requirements don't violate the First Amendment.

That's when things accelerated. States that had been waiting for the ruling fast-tracked their bills. South Dakota, Wyoming, Georgia, North Dakota, Arizona, Ohio, Missouri — all passed and enacted laws within months. By November 2025, 25 states were active.

Pornhub's response was the same everywhere: block access entirely. No age verification option. No workaround. A wall. Their argument — age verification as implemented is "ineffective, haphazard, and dangerous." Their preferred alternative: device-level verification through operating systems, not site-by-site ID checks.

The one exception is Louisiana, where the AllpassTrust/LA Wallet system lets users verify without handing their ID directly to the site. Pornhub remains accessible there.

Kansas: Strictest content threshold — 25% triggers compliance.

The Aylo block covers Pornhub, RedTube, YouPorn, Tube8, and Brazzers. That's a lot of traffic — but it's not the entire internet.

Most cam sites remain accessible. Chaturbate, Stripchat, CamSoda, MyFreeCams, BongaCams — they're either complying with verification requirements where mandated or operating in a compliance gray area depending on the state. Creator platforms like OnlyFans and Fansly continue operating because they already verify creators and handle billing through existing ID infrastructure.

Other tube sites — XNXX, XVideos, xHamster, SpankBang, ePorner — have varying approaches by state. Some comply with verification. Some are accessible without checks in states where enforcement hasn't caught up yet.

The gap between what's "blocked" and what's "not yet enforced" is the thing nobody talks about. And even in states where sites comply — what are they doing with your data once you've verified? We scanned every major site with Blacklight. The results vary wildly.

A VPN routes your connection through a server in a state without age verification laws — or another country entirely. The site sees an IP from an unrestricted location, the block never triggers, and you don't upload your driver's license to a porn site.

Legal? Yes. No US state has criminalized VPN use to access legal content. Age verification laws target websites, not users. Adults using a VPN are exercising a privacy tool, not breaking a law.

Which states is Pornhub blocked in?
