FantasyAI returned a perfect Blacklight scan and in the AI companion category that result carries more weight than anywhere else. Zero trackers. Zero cookies. No fingerprinting, no session recording, no keystroke capture. VirusTotal 0/94. Every other AI platform I've reviewed in this project — DreamGF at 1 tracker, Kupid AI at 3 — runs some level of third-party tracking. FantasyAI runs none. On platforms where the product is literally built from your personal fantasies typed into a text field, the difference between zero tracking and any tracking is meaningful. The privacy is the story here.

The product underneath that privacy is early. I spent a few sessions building characters, chatting, generating images, and testing the boundaries of what the AI could do. The experience is functional in the way that a new restaurant with a good concept and an undercooked menu is functional — all the pieces are present, the execution hasn't caught up to the ambition.

I mentioned a specific detail eight messages back and the AI responded as if the conversation had just started. These are model limitations that a platform can improve with better fine-tuning or a model upgrade, but as of my testing, the conversational experience sits a tier below the better-funded competitors.

Image generation works but with visible quality gaps. Generated images of created characters have less facial consistency across multiple outputs than DreamGF achieves. Request five images of the same character and you'll get recognizable similarity but not the locked-in face consistency that DreamGF delivers. The images themselves are current-gen AI quality — photorealistic enough at thumbnail size, artifact-prone at closer inspection. Hands, accessories, background coherence — the usual weak points. The platform feels like it's still finding its footing. Feature documentation is sparse — I couldn't clearly determine what each pricing tier included without testing the limits through actual use. The community is small compared to PromptChan's active gallery or Candy AI's established user base. There's no community content to browse, no shared characters, no gallery of user-generated images. The experience is solitary in a category where community features have become expected. That's fine for users who want private interaction and nothing else, but it removes a discovery layer that competitors use to keep users engaged between their own generations.

Pricing follows the tiered model. Free access is limited to a taste — enough to confirm the platform works and not much more. Paid tiers range upward with increasing generation and message allowances. The per-dollar output at mid-range pricing doesn't compete favorably with DreamGF or Candy AI, both of which deliver more content per credit at equivalent spend levels. The privacy premium — paying slightly more for zero tracking — might justify the delta for privacy-conscious users, but the platform doesn't market that advantage explicitly enough.

The interface is the one area where FantasyAI matches or exceeds some competitors. Clean, modern, dark-themed, unburdened by the feature clutter that DreamGF's dashboard accumulates. Navigation is simple. The character builder flows logically. Chat window is uncluttered. For first-time users of AI companion platforms, the low-friction onboarding is a genuine positive. The simplicity reads as intentional rather than unfinished on the UX layer, even if the product underneath is less mature than the interface suggests.

The product itself — chat quality, image generation, feature depth, community — trails the category leaders by enough margin that the privacy advantage alone doesn't close the gap. If zero tracking is your priority and you'll accept a less polished AI experience to get it, FantasyAI is the only option.
